entertainment industry coach Question 519: How do I get funding for my film?

Ah, the million (or multi-million) dollar question. There are countless ways. This is where out of the box thinking has made it's mark. I've read articles about a filmmaker who asked all of the dentists in his hometown for the money, and about the filmmaker who sold t-shirts to raise the money. There are more traditional ways to find investors who are looking to invest in films.

It sounds like you are at the very beginning of the process, so you have to decide if you want to go the creative, outside of the box way, or invest in a program that teaches you how to get funding for a film. They may have classes at UCLA extension and I know there are speakers who address this topic. The reason for these courses is because you need to have a lot of material and statistics including a budget and marketing plan before you even think about presenting to serious investors.
